HCG Injections Dosage – How It is Determined
HCG injections are used for a number of reasons, including improving fertility in women and men, increasing low testosterone levels in males, and “off-label” use for weight loss as part of the HCG diet protocol. The actual HCG injections dosage will be carefully determined by the prescribing doctor based on the individual person’s needs.
The deciding factors for the HCG injections doses in weight loss are partially based on a person’s starting weight in conjunction with his or her height and age, as well as the protocol followed by the doctor for his or her patients.
There is no HCG diet injection dosage chart to show, or definitive answer to give, although the most common amount of HCG administered on a daily basis is 50 units on a 1 ml syringe. The prescribing doctor will provide all necessary information for the best dosage of HCG injections for your individual needs.
How to Prepare the HCG Injections
Preparing the HCG injections dosage for weight loss is not difficult at all. When you contact Weight Loss Medical Center to initiate the process of ridding your body of unwanted fat, you will be sent a complete HCG diet kit from a fully licensed US pharmacy. The kit will contain the following:
- A vial of lyophilized HCG powder
- A vial containing sterile solution for mixing
- A 5 ml syringe for mixing the HCG preparation
- Alcohol prep swabs
- 1 ml insulin syringes for injecting
- Sharps container for needle/syringe disposal
Before you can administer the first HCG injection daily dose, the HCG solution will have to be prepared by mixing it with the sterile solution. Here are the steps:
- Remove the caps from the HCG and sterile solution and wipe the tops with an alcohol swab
- Open the 5 ml syringe package and make certain that the needle/cap is secure before removing the cap from the needle
- Pull the plunger out until 5 ml of air have been drawn into the syringe
- Insert the needle tip into the sterile solution cap and push the collected air into the vial
- Holding the vial at an upside down tilt so that the liquid covers the needle, slowly pull the plunger drawing 5 ml solution into the syringe
- Remove the needle from this vial and then insert it into the vial containing the lyophilized HCG
- Tilt this vial sideways a little so that the liquid will run down the side of the glass, gently mixing with the HCG powder while you push in on the plunger
- Remove the needle from the vial, replace the cap, then twist it off the syringe and discard capped needle in the provided Sharps container
- The used 5 ml syringe can be disposed of in its package in the trash
- Check the HCG vial to ensure that the solution has mixed and that there are no crystals or particles – gently swirl or rotate between your fingers if necessary – do not shake
Your HCG injections dose is now ready for initial use.
How to Administer the HCG Dosage
Administering the correct dosage of HCG injections is not difficult at all. The injecting syringe is the same one used by diabetics for their insulin shots. If this is your first shot, you will have just finished mixing the HCG powder with the sterile solution. For subsequent injections, you will remove the HCG vial from the refrigerator 20 minutes before use to allow it to come to room temperature.
Here are the directions for preparing the HCG inj. dosage:
- Use 1 alcohol swab to sterilize the top of the HCG vial, and another swab to clean the area on your abdomen that will be used for the injection
- Take a new 1 ml syringe and remove the needle cap, setting it aside for recapping purposes
- Fill this 1 ml syringe with 50 units of air by gently pulling back the plunger, and then insert the tip of the needle into the prepared HCG vial, pushing in the plunger to fill the vial with the air
- Tilt the vial until the HCG liquid completely covers the needle tip and slowly pull back the plunger until 50 units of HCG are in the syringe
- Remove the needle from the vial and pinch a fold of skin between your fingers at the site of the swabbed area on the abdomen
- The needle should then be inserted into the skin at a 45-degree angle, and then the plunger pushed in until all HCG has been administered
- Remove the needle and replace the cap, disposing of the entire unit in the Sharps container
- Replace the vial of HCG in the refrigerator
