Where to Inject HCG Shot for Maximum Effectiveness
If you are getting ready to begin the HCG diet, the key to successful weight loss is following the proper protocols. This includes knowing how and where to administer your HCG shots.
HCG is a doctor prescribed hormone that has been shown to be extremely beneficial in helping people lose an average of 1 pound each day, based on starting weight, gender, and level of activity. There is a step by step protocol to follow that includes instructions on what to eat and when, how many calories to consume, and when and where to inject HCG shot in order to get the maximum effectiveness which translates to incredible weight loss.
The best place to administer the HCG shot is into the abdomen, specifically the fleshy area one inch to the side of and below the belly button. HCG should never be injected into a vein, muscle, or next to a bone. Weight Loss Medical Center has clinical advisors that will help guide each person through this process at the start of the HCG diet. Instructions are provided in writing, through video links, and via phone conference with an advisor.
HCG Injection Procedure
After reviewing the HCG injections procedure as provided in the written directions, it is suggested that each person watches the online video tutorial to get a clear understanding of how to proceed. For those who desire, one of our clinical advisors can be on the phone to walk you through the first injection, as needed. They will also guide you in where to inject the HCG shot if you are still unsure of the best spot on your body.
After gathering all necessary supplies to start, you will be ready to begin. The supplies needed before the first injections are:
- HCG medication
- Bacteriostatic water
- Mixing syringe
- Alcohol prep wipes
- Injecting syringe and needle
- Sharps container
You will be using the alcohol wipes to clean the tops of the HCG and bacteriostatic water vials after removing the cap, as well as cleaning the injection site on your abdomen. When you remove the covers from the needles, be sure to save them to recover before discarding in the Sharps container.
Follow all instructions as provided by Weight Loss Medical Center for mixing the solution, drawing air into the mixing syringe equal to the amount of bacteriostatic fluid you will need to prepare the HCG solution. The needle is then inserted into the bacteriostatic liquid vial stopper and the air is pushed into the vial before pulling back on the stopper and withdrawing the proper amount of fluid into the syringe to add to the HCG.
Once filled and removed from the vial, the needle can then be inserted into the HCG stopper and slowly added to the vial, tilting so that the fluid runs down the side into the powder. Do not shake this mixture; gently swirl the vial if necessary to mix the solution for use.
As this point, the HCG shot is ready to proceed. Using a new injecting syringe, pull back on the stopper filling with the same amount of air as HCG that will be withdrawn from the vial. Insert the needle into the top of the vial, pushing down on the stopper so that the air is released into the vial. Turn the vial upside down and draw the correct amount of HCG into the syringe, removing any air bubbles by slowly pushing them back into the vial.
After sanitizing the injection site, pinch the skin around the spot to be used and insert the needle at an angle of 45 degrees, slowly pushing the plunger until all of the HCG has been injected. The needle can then be removed, recovered, and discarded in the Sharps container.
